Cafod ride along the River Lea

In June, my nine year old daughter and I rode the cafod pedal against poverty 10 mile bike ride along the river lea from Cheshunt to Broxborne and back. We had done a couple of warm up rides to Hertford and back and she had just got a bigger bike. We got up and loaded the car to drive to Cheshunt where we registered for the event. After a long wait, we set off up the towpath in our group of about 20 riders. The ride from Cheshunt was enjoyable with only one big bridge to cross, and in Broxborne we were met by the rest of the family for a picnic and an ice cream. We rode the return leg a bit faster and at the end we collected a certificate to say my daughter had completed the ride. My daughter raised well over £100 for Cafod and next year we will do the 20 mile ride!
